What do I do with all my photographs?! - The power of social media

Social media is hugely powerful, we all have it, but only a small percentage actually use it properly!

Here’s the thing, you need to be willing to use your ‘personal’ profile as your business profile. Now, your ‘personal’ profile is not personal, it may well be full of your ‘family and friends’ but if I asked your family and friends what you do, would they be able to give me an answer in 5 seconds?! If no, then you are not doing your job well enough!

I actually get spotted in the streets by people who follow me on social media, I don’t even know they’re watching and sometimes, I have no idea who they are! What a nice problem to have.

They have seen a mix of posts from updates showing what I have been up to and then a mix of photographs showing the work I have done. This is a mix of photos of me professionally, updating where I am on the go with photos of me and also photographing many events that these people have attended before.

The power of social media and the power of photographs is huge! This leads into how to use social media more effectively which we will send out more information next week!

I can guarantee all my family and friends know that I do photography.

And for those of you who don’t want to spam your family and friends with ‘business’ posts, don’t worry, there is this amazing button so if they get bored of you, they can ‘unfriend’ or ‘unfollow’ you!

How cool is that.

And same for you, if you have anyone negative on your social media, I strongly recommend you ‘unfollow’ or ‘unfriend’ them. Why? Because we are in a time of uncertainty and negativity, just look at the news, “if it bleeds it reads”.

This fuels their excitement to moan and complain because let’s be honest, that is what people do best…

In order for you to be a better version of yourself, you need to remove this negativity, embrace the uncertainty.

Here's the good news - we haven't even touched on the power of social media yet!

Here's where it gets really good, you get tagged in your friends posts which gets seen by their friends. Then you get tagged in posts because your friend (client) is so happy with the work you have done - that's when it is really powerful!

We will reveal more in our next blog, keep your eyes pealed and if you'd like to be alerted when it is live, send us a message :)
